Trevecca inducted Jim Hendershot into the Trevecca Athletic Hall of Fame during ceremonies at Homecoming on November 8, 2008-Jim Hendershot, one of Trevecca's most faithful supporters. Both men died unexpectedly in 2008.

James E. "Jim" Hendershot '67, a successful State Farm Insurance agent in Brentwood, Tennessee, had far-reaching ties to Trevecca: a member of the Trevecca Board of Trustees, frequent participant in Trevecca golf tournaments, and loyal fan of Trevecca athletics.

Begun in 1993, the Athletic Hall of Fame honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions within the Trevecca intercollegiate athletic program, which started in 1969. With these inductions, 39 individuals are now members of the Trevecca Athletic Hall of Fame.

James E. "Jim" Hendershot '67 arrived on Trevecca's campus with a smile that seldom left his face during the intervening years. From his earliest contact with Trevecca, he developed a love for everything associated with Trevecca, and throughout his life, he demonstrated that love in many ways.

A successful State Farm Insurance agent in Brentwood, Tenn., Jim maintained close ties with Trevecca-played in its golf tournaments, attended its games, served on its Board of Trustees, participated in a variety of Trevecca-related activities, and gave of himself and his resources to ensure that Trevecca athletics thrived.
