PULASKI, Tenn. - Riley Mashburn of Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University and Monica West of Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University have been selected as the TranSouth Athletic Conference Pitcher and Player of the Week respectively for the week ending April 3, 2010.

Mashburn, a five-foot-six sophomore right-handed pitcher from Brentwood, Tenn., helped the No. 19 Trojans to an 4-1 week and the TranSouth Touranment Championship with a 3-0 performance at the 2010 Tournament. In the first game, a 1-0 win over Mid-Continent, Mashburn pitched a seven inning, seven strike out, two walk, and four-hit shutout. In game two, a 4-3 win over Union, Mashburn hurled another seven innings allowing five hits, three runs, and a walk while striking out another seven. The tournament winner was a 5-4 10-inning win over Bethel University. Mashburn threw 199 pitches and struck out 12 while allowing seven hits, no earned runs, and nine walks. For the tournament Mashburn threw 24 innings allowing 16 hits, three earned runs, twelve walks, and had 26 strike outs. Her earned run average for the week was .88. Additionally, she helped herself with the bat in all three wins. Driving in the games only run in the 1-0 win over Mid-Continent.

West, a five-foot-nine junior catcher from Murfreesboro, Tenn., was the offensive star for the Trojans as they won the 2010 TranSouth Athletic Conference tournament. West had at least one hit in all but one of the Trojans five games and had a double, two home runs, six RBI, and three runs scored. West had a .412 batting average and .824 slugging percentage during tournament play. West was at the top or in the top 2 in nearly every offensive category. Most home runs, Slugging Percentage, Home Runs, Total Bases, Hits and also scored three runs and had the second most RBI.
