PULASKI, Tenn. - The Trojan baseball team (29-23, 7-13 TranSouth) dropped its season finale Friday afternoon, falling at Martin Methodist (22-26, 11-9 TranSouth) 10-9. The RedHawks scored five runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to steal the victory from the Trojans.

After falling behind 1-0 in the first inning, the Trojans scored twice in the third on a two-run homer by Trey Morrison and three more times in the fifth on RBI singles by Brad Gooch and Bret Grizzard and an error to take a 5-1 lead heading into the bottom of the fifth. MMC scored twice in the fifth and twice in the sixth, sandwiched around a Trojan run in the top of the sixth, and after six innings the Trojan lead had been cut to 6-5.

The Trojans seemed to put the game away with three more runs in the eighth inning, thanks to an RBI single by Chris Hale and a 2-run single by Edwin Borbon, but the 9-5 lead wasn't enough. A grand slam in the bottom of the ninth by Hector Lora tied it, and pinch hitter Chad Hunter singled and ultimately scored on an error to put an end to the game.

Gooch and Matt Tidwell had two hits apiece, with Tidwell finishing the season at .478. Borbon and Morrison each drove in a pair of runs, and Morrison scored three times. Jerry Young (3-3) took the loss for the Trojans, while Jason Holt (1-1) got the win for Martin Methodist.

The Trojans season is complete as the team missed out on the 2010 TranSouth Athletic Conference Tournament.
