DECATUR, Ala. - The 17th-ranked Trojan softball team (43-15) hits the field at 4:30 this afternoon against former TranSouth Conference rival, No. 2 Lee University (57-4) in the 30th Annual NAIA Softball National Tournament at Wilson Morgan Softball Complex in Decatur, Ala. On the line---a berth in the eight-team, double-elimination championship bracket to determine the 2010 NAIA champion.

Now they play each other in a game that was originally scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, but was postponed until today due to inclement weather on Friday. The winner will turn right around and play the winner of Pool G in the first round of the championship bracket Monday night at 9 p.m. The finale of Pool G pits No. 7 Point Loma Nazarene (30-14) out of the Golden State Athletic Conference against No. 10 Shorter College (49-14), a rival of Lee's in the Southern States Athletic Conference.
Lee holds a 33-7 edge in the all-time series with the Trojans, but the two teams haven't met since 2006. Former Trojan great Jennifer Perkins is an assistant on the Lee coaching staff. The Flames are led both in the circle and at the plate by Johana Gomez. The senior from Pirito, Venezuela is 30-1 with a 0.58 ERA and is hitting .519 with 18 home runs and 84 RBI.
