NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Trevecca volleyball coach Jayme Crowley is pleased to announce the signing of middle blocker Persephonie Devereaux of Tehachapi, Calif.

"We are pleased to sign another middle blocker with as much potential as Persephonie Devereaux has," says Coach Crowley. "Persephonie had a solid tryout, displaying strength and jumping ability, along with the ability to put up a solid block and hit a variety of shots."

Devereaux was a three-year varsity starter at Tehachapi High School, earning first-team all-league honors for both the 2008 and 2009 seasons. In addition, she also received the Most Improved Player Award. Devereaux competed in three sports in high school, also playing basketball and running track.

Coach Crowley adds, "Persephonie's biggest assets include her sincerity, honesty, work ethic, and her huge heart. Persephonie impressed me with her determination and desire to become a part of our Trevecca Nazarene University volleyball program. I believe her to be a true 'God' send to our program at just the right time and for just the right position. She is a strong Christian who will blossom our university and team the minute she arrives on campus."
