NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Several members of the Trevecca men's golf team have been honing their skills over the summer.

Rising junior David Saldana, of Clarksville, Tenn., led the Clarksville City Amateur after the first round with a 3-under 69. He finished third overall with a (69-76-72) 217. The first 18 holes were played at the Clarksville Country Club. The final two rounds (36 holes) were played at Cole Park Golf Course.

Final Round Story

Joey Bradley, William Potts, and David Saldana all qualified for the Tennessee State Amateur with a 1-under 70 at the Tennessee State Amateur Qualifier on July 19 at Old Hickory (Tenn.) Country Club. The Tennessee State Amateur Championship will be held August 3-6 at the Club At Fairvue Plantation - The Foxland Course.

Skip Jones, a rising junior, qualified for the Tennessee Match Play Championship at the Chattanooga Golf and Country Club. He shot 74-73 and finished tied for 28th. He missed the Match Play portion by three strokes.

Joey Bradley, playing as an amateur, missed the cut at the 2010 Tennessee Open by just one stroke. The 62nd Annual Tennessee Open Championship was played at Greystone Golf Club in Dickson, Tenn. Bradley finished the first two rounds with a five-over par (75-74) 149. The cut for the final round was at 148.

Tennessee State Open Championship

Bradley and Saldana finished in a tie for second at the 2010 TranSouth Athletic Conference Tournament. Bradley was the medalist at the Lindsey Wilson Fall Invitational and the Trevecca/Martin Methodist Challenge. Saldana was the Medalist at the Union Invitational.

The Trojans will open the 2010-2011 season September 13-14 at the Lindsey Wilson Invitational on the Dale Hollow State Park course in Burkesville, Ky.
