NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Trevecca baseball coach Jonathan Burton has signed Ravenwood High School pitcher Ryan Fitzpatrick for the coming 2010-2011 season.
Fitzpatrick, who earned wins in the District 11-AAA and Region 6-AAA championships, signed the the Trojans to continue his career.
"Ryan is someone we targeted in our recruiting and we were pleased he decided to join our program at Trevecca," said Burton. "He has a chance to contribute in his first season and we are looking for a great pitcher by the time his senior season arrives."
The 6-foot left-hander went 7-2 with a 2.97 ERA and 54 strikeouts in 59 innings last season as a senior.
Fitzpatrick, who also played center field, hit .330 with 20 RBIs and 18 stolen bases.
"As long as he stays focused, I think he should do pretty well," Ravenwood baseball Coach Chad Kirby said. "Now he can get committed to baseball. He played football for us as well, so he had to do both. He's got a real good curveball. He relies on changing speeds and hitting his spots.''
