NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Trevecca head baseball coach Jonathan Burton has added pitcher William Elkins of Florence, Ala. to his 2010-2011 signing class. Elkins, a transfer from Lawson State Community College in Birmingham, Ala., will bolster the Trojan staff in 2011.
"Will is a late inning guy that really does a nice job of coming right at hitters," said Burton. "He does many different things well and is good at commanding the zone."
The 5-foot-eleven right-hander went 2-3 with five saves last season for Lawson State. He played high school baseball at Florence (Ala.) High School.
Burton added, "He will have the chance to be a go-to guy late in the big-game situations."
