NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Trevecca head baseball coach Jonathan Burton has added infielder Matthew Dobbins of Franklin, Tenn. to the roster for the 2010-2011 season. Dobbins has played the last two seasons for Coach Brett Kelley at Illinois Central College in East Peoria, Ill.

"Matt was a very good late, local sign for us," said Burton. "He is very reliable up the middle and will help us immediately."

In his sophomore season he batted .305 with 13 doubles, a triple, 20 runs, and 22 RBI. As a fresman he hit .335 with 12 doubles, two triples, and 24 RBI.  

Coach Burton added, "Matt is a very scrappy player that fits into our scheme as well. He is going to be a very steady contributor for us."

He played for coach Brent Alumbaugh at Franklin High School where as a senior he hit .415 with 16 doubles, three triples, two home runs, had 26 stolen bases, and had 24 RBI. In addition, he was named to the District All-Tournament team.
