NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Trevecca women's cross country team is now official, they participated in their inaugural event at the Belmont-Vanderbilt Cross Country Opener.
The women's event was a 4K run held at the Vaughn's Gap Course at Percy Warner Park. There were 120 individuals competing. Trevecca's Emily Smith was the top Trojan coming in at 18:24. Wilson was just one place and nine seconds behind Bethel University's Jennifer Chepkemboi, the only other NAIA runner to finish ahead of her.
The other Trojan competitors were Devon Eby, Brittany Gerrell, Anne Marie Kengne, and CJ Childs.
Complete Event ResultsTrevecca competed against Belmont University, Vanderbilt University, Western Kentucky University, University of Alabama, Lipscomb University, Middle Tennessee State University, Bethel University, University of Tennessee, University of Memphis, Austin Peay State University, and UT-Martin.
The Trojans' next meet is September 18, when they will compete in the Vanderbilt Commodore Classic at the Vaughn's Gap Course at Percy Warner Park. The men's meet starts at 9 a.m. with the women's meet getting underway at 10 a.m.
