NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Trevecca baseball coach Jonathan Burton announces Chase Dixon of Hesperia, Calif. has signed to play for the Trojans this season. Dixon will be a senior with one year of eligibility remaining with the Trojans.

A 6'1" right-handed pitcher is transferring from York (Neb.) College. As a junior in 2007 he was 3-1 for the Panthers. Dixon played for the So Cal Bears Summer League team this summer.

Coach Burton says, "Chase has the ability to be a key player in our bullpen this year. He will throw a lot of strikes and will be used as a spot starter as well. Chase is a great kid who will give positive energy to our team."

Dixon is the ninth player to sign for the 2008-2009 recruiting class. The class includes transfers Tim Dunn (John A. Logan College), Matt Lyle (Calhoun Community College), Trey Morrison (Dyersburg State Community College), Jeff Hughes (Austin Peay State University), Ryan Whitson (Dyersburg State Community College), Andy Betts (Lincoln Trail Community College) and incoming freshman Jacobi Olin (Christ Presbyterian Academy).
