CAMPBELLSVILLE,
Ky. - Trevecca Nazarene University finished sixth in the Don Bishop
Invitational at Campbellsville Country Club. Trevecca shot a team score of 397-374
771 in sloppy conditions at the course. The course played to a par of 72 over
6541 yards. There were seven teams and 46 golfers participating.
The
Trojans, like many teams, struggled with the wet and cooler temps both days.
Junior
Whitney Phillips shot 90-90 180 for 23rd overall to lead Trevecca
effort. Maddie Privott was next with an 98-98 196 and finished 30th. Sarah Jo Dixon (102-95 197)
and Ashley Randolph (107-91 198) were the other TNU golfers competing.
University
of the Cumberlands shot a team score of 315 Tuesday to rally past Lindsey
Wilson College to win the team competition. The Lady Patriots trailed the Blue
Raiders by nine strokes after Monday's opening round, but benefited from a 74
by Liz Stephens, who finished second, and a 76 by Laura Beth Harris, who
finished sixth.
Kaitlin Allen, the only player to fire under par in the tournament with a 71 on
Monday, shot 77 Tuesday to maintain her low medalist status. She led Lindsey
Wilson to a second-place finish, which lost its lead by three strokes.
Play
will resume Tuesday, Sept. 20 with an 8:30 a.m. ET shotgun start at
Campbellsville Country Club.
