NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Trevecca women's cross country program is pleased to announce the signing of Katherine Carmody of Brentwood, Tenn., to its 2012-2013 recruiting class.

"Katherine is a founding member of an extremely competitive local home school cross country team, Sovereign Grace Storm, coached by her father Mike Carmody," said Trevecca cross country coach Nick Landry. "She is smart, dedicated, strong-willed, and balanced, all of which are important in becoming a competitive collegiate runner."

Carmody boasts a personal best of 19:55 for a 5K, which she posted at the Foot Locker South Regional, good for a 22nd-place finish.

"She is one of the few seniors who I really pursued to be a part of our program in the fall," added Coach Landry. "It's an exciting time to be a part of our program and I'm excited Katherine will be a Trojan in the fall. She will be a great fit in the Trevecca community, both on the course and in the classroom."
