NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Trevecca baseball program is excited to announce the latest addition to its 2012-13 recruiting class, pitcher Mason Dunn of Goodlettsville, Tenn.

"One of our main goals as a staff was to build around a core of young, highly projectable pitchers that will develop together in our system as we build for the future," said Trevecca Head Coach Mike Lord. "Mason fits perfectly with that plan."

Dunn, a 5-11 righthander from Beech High School, will be one of the pitchers this spring for Coach Greg Shelton and the Buccaneers, a perennial 5A powerhouse.

"There is all kinds of upside for Mason," added Lord. "He is going to get taller and more physical, and when you combine that with his ability to locate and throw three plus pitches for strikes, you get excited."

Dunn compiled a 5-1 record with a 2.12 ERA and 39 strikeouts last season at Beech, where he is a two-year letterwinner.

Coach Lord continued, "Mason was looking for a small Christian school and wanted to stay close to home. He and his family had a great visit and I think everyone knew it was going to be a great fit for everyone. With Mason, we now have three really good young arms that are going to have the chance to come in next year and make an impact."
