NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Trevecca (13-6, 6-4)returned to action as they hosted Martin Methodist College (1-16, 1-7, beating the RedHawks in straight sets.
 
Kimi Coffey took control early, as the Junior Libero served a 7-0 run right out of the gate. With the Trojans leading 13-6, they used a 9-1 spurt to stretch their lead out to as many as 14 points at 21-, before Martin closed to within eight points at 21-13 with a 6-0 run of their own. That would be as close as they got, however, as Trevecca took four of the final six points towin the set 25-15.

The two teams battled evenly to start the second set, with the Trojans taking a slim 8-6 lead, but again Coffey sparked the Trojans, igniting a 14-1 run that put the Trojans up by 15 on their way to taking the set 25-13. The two teams split the first 22 points of the third set right down the middle, but with the score tied 11-11, the Trojans used a 6-0 run to stretch their lead out to six. The RedHawks would not get closer than five points the rest of the way as the Trojans finished off the sweep 25-17. Coffey and Kaley Ward each led the team with a pair of aces in the match, while Ward led the team in kills (13) and kill percentage (.619).

Trevecca will take a week off before visiting Mid-Continent University (0-16, 0-10) in Mayfield, Ky. on Thursday, October 16 at 7 p.m. The next home match will be on Saturday, October 18 when they host a Tri-Match with Evangel (Mo.) College (16-9) and Christian Brothers University. TNU will face Evangel at Noon and Chrisitan Brothers (15-6) at 4 p.m. Evangel and Christian Brothers will play at 2 p.m.
