-Trevecca's
men's golf team returned to action at the Martin
Methodist Challenge at the Bear Trace at
Ross Creek in Clifton, Tenn. The course played to a par of 72 over
7,131 yards. There were six teams and 59 golfers participating.
Trevecca finished
third in the one-day event with a combined team score of 308.
Cumberland University won the event with a 294 and Union University was
two strokes better than Trevecca at 306. Lambuth University (312),
Bethel College (314), and Martin Methodist College (323) rounded out
the team scoring.
Trevecca's
Joey Bradley was the Trojans low scorer with a 75 and
finished in a tie for sixth. Guy Nardo of Cumberland shot a 1-under par
71 for the medalist honors. Trevecca sophomore Bobbby Humburg acquited
himself well with a 76 that placed him in a tie for 10th overall. TNU
senior Will Scism carded a 77 and was tied for 13th place. The
remainder of the Trojan participants were: Quinn Cole (80), Skip Jones
(82), David Saldana (83), Grant Moffett (83), Rece Martin (83), William
Potts (87), Clifton Smith (89), Cody Woods (91), Josh Fields (91), and
Thomas Pugh (96).
The team will participate in two more events before breaking to prepare for the spring schedule.
Trevecca will
participate in the North Alabama Classic at the Blackberry Trail course
in Florence, Ala. on October 13-14. The final event will take place
October 20-21 at the Bluegrass Invitational at the Cheery Blossom Golf
Course in Georgetown, Ky..
