NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Trevecca (7-2-2, 3-0-0 G-MAC) defeated Ursuline College (6-7-1, 0-2-1 G-MAC) 1-0 on Saturday to claim the first-ever G-MAC regular season title in any sport. The Trojans swept through conference play without allowing a goal in winning the first-year Great Midwest Athletic Conference regular season title in any sport.

Trevecca's Anna Hoffman scored the lone goal of the match on an assist from Becky Bartos. It was the fourth goal and assist of the year for each player respectively. The goal came at 40:53 of the first half.

Trevecca Women's Soccer Head Coach Brett Armstrong said the lone goal of the game started with a play by Becky Bartow, "Becky did a good job winning a ball and looked up to find Anna Hoffman, who was playing wide left. Anna beat her defender to the ball on a cross from Becky. Her first shot was deflected by the Ursuline keeper, but she buried the rebound for the goal."

The winner of the regular season serves as host of the conference post-season tournament. The Trojans will host the G-MAC Women's Soccer postseason tournament over Homecoming weekend, November 2-3, 2012 at the TNU Soccer Complex.

The unofficial stats show a save for Trevecca keeper Bekah Headrick and five shots on goal for Trevecca.  It is the seventh shutout of the year for Headrick.

This is the eighth shutout of the season for Trevecca. The Trojans have allowed one goal in the last nine matches. The defensive streak has helped produce a 7-0-2 record over the last eight matches.

Coach Armstrong said this match was siliarm to Thursday's win over Urbana, "It was a real similar in that we really had to battle a hectic start, but again we regrouped and found our bearings before scoring a goal late in the first half."

Armstrong said there were limited chances for both teams, "Ursuline created 1-2 good scoring chances and we only had about four. Jordan Ponto is a key for us and she was today in the back. She kept us organized and snuffed out a few opportunities before they could materialize fully."
