LEBANON, Tenn. - Trevecca's men's soccer team (7-6-2, 2-3 TSAC) broke above .500 with a 2-0 shutout of Cumberland University (6-6-1, 2-4) on Tuesday on the road at Cumberland's Lindsey Donnell Stadium.

Trevecca scored twice late in the first half, including the second goal on a penalty kick, as the Trojans won 2-0. Senior Mark Foster scored on the penalty kick to set the Trevecca record for career goals scored.

Cumberland outshot the Trojans, 21-10, overall in the match, but only eight of the shots were on goal. Trevecca had five shots in each half but made its few chances count.

The Trojans began to take control toward the end of the first period and took advantage of a nice passing combination to score its first goal. John Sheets took a pass deep down the right side, crossed in into the box to Sam Madeley, who one-touched a pass to Parker Hughes at the door-step of the goal. Hughes booted the ball into the net for the easy score and a 1-0 TNU advantage in the 39th minute.

Trevecca scored again late in the half after CU's Idris Dosky was called for a hand ball in the box. Mark Foster put home the penalty kick for a 2-0 TNU lead at the break. Trevecca freshman keeper Hayden Coffman (Hendersonville, Tenn.) made the pair of goals standup with the shutout.

Trevecca has two more regular season matches on the schedule. Trevecca will visit Freed-Hardeman University (5-10, 0-6) on Saturday at 7 p.m. The final regular season match will be Tuesday, October 28 at Mid-Continent University (6-6-2, 1-3) in Mayfield, Ky.
