GEORGETOWN, Ky. - Trevecca's final
fall
event was at the Bluegrass Invitational at Cherry Blossom Golf Course
in Georgetown, Ky. The course played to a par of 72 over 6,838 yards.
There were seven team and 44 golfers participating.
After posting a first
day team score of 305, the Trojans earned a fourth place finish by
shooting 306 on day two. The team total of 611 was just six shots off
the lead.
Ohio Dominican
University (307-298) came from nine shots back on day two to claim the
tourney title, posting a team score of 60. Georgetown finished second
at 608 (296-312), The University of the Cumberlands scored 609
(300-309) to finish third, and Spalding University (303-320) rounded
out the top five with a 623.
Trevecca's Joey
Bradley (74-74) shot 148 to earn his way into a playoff for the Tourney
title with Christian Heavens of Georgetown and Michael Burgen of the
Cumberlands. Bradley, a 5'11" freshman from Centerville, Tennessee,
birdied the first playoff hole, while the other two competitors each
made par, winning the individual title. Bobby Humburg shot a 153
(78-75) to finish 10th, Quin Cole (76-78) finished one stroke behind
Humburg in 11th, Will Scism finished in 14th at 156 (77-79), and Grant
Moffett finished at 166 (83-83) in 34th place.
The Trojans have now
completed their fall schedule. The next tournament for Trevecca will be
at the Smee Builders Invitational, hosted by Point Loma Nazarene
University at the Steele Canyon Golf Club in San Diego, Calif. on March
2-3.
