
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Trevecca Trojans (4-14, 1-5 TSAC) hosted NAIA No. 4 Martin Methodist (15-1, 5-0) for their final regular season match on Saturday, falling to the RedHawks 9-0.
Martin Methodist came out strong, with Shannon Walter, Tori Gikas, Julia Bazi, and Lisa Mann all scoring in the opening half. Walter and Mann each netted two goals in the period, and at the break the RedHawks led 6-0. In the second half, Walter completted her hat trick, and Mann scored twice more providing the RedHawks with the final margin of 9-0. Amy Maslyn started and played the entire match for the Trojans in goal, recording 14 saves, while Karen Carmack started and posted the shutout for the RedHawks, making one save in the match.
The team will participate in the TranSouth Tournament beginning November 8, 2008. Trevecca will play on the road at the No. 3 seed.
