
Trevecca led 34-27 at the half and Shorter outscored Trevecca 31-29 in the second half to keep the game close. The Trojans were able to pull away in the final minutes for another close win over the Eagles.
K.C. Van Atta led Trevecca with 18 points and had four rebounds. Jennifer Bognar and Abby Lawson joined Van Atta in double figures with 11 points apiece. Lawson led Trevecca in four other categories; rebounds (9) assists (4), blocks (2), and steals (4). Bognar also had two blocks. Christian Gibson had three steals before leaving the game after being injured while diving for a ball out of bounds. Reports were positive for Gibson following a visit to a local hospital, though it would appear she'll be out for a few weeks.
As a team the Trojans hit 20-of-55 (36%) from the field, 7-of-21 (33%) from beyond the arc, and 16-of-30 (53%) from the foul line. Trevecca was beaten on the boards 52-31 with the Eagles claiming 18 offensive rebounds. Trevecca only had 12 turnovers while forcing 29 on the Eagles. .
Trevecca will face Covenant College (7-5) on Saturday at Noon. The Scots defeated the host Bulldogs on Friday.
