
The Eagles and Trojans battled closely out of the gate, with Lambuth holding a slim 20-19 lead with 8:49 left in the first half. Trevecca then used a 6-0 spurt to take the 25-20 lead, eventually stretching their lead to seven at 36-29. Lambuth closed the first half with a 7-0 run to tie the score at the break at 36-36. In the second half, the Eagles took a 51-44 lead with 11:34 remaining, but the Trojans roared back. Trevecca used a 9-0 run to take the lead 53-51, and for the rest of regulation, the teams traded baskets, and at the end of regulation, the score was 71-71. Lambuth took control in overtime, with Tom Hammons hitting three three-point field goals in the overtime period to pull out the 81-79 victory.
Brian Oduor posted a double-double for the Trojans, scoring 22 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. Matthew Smigielski led the Trojans with 24 points, including 6-of-8 from long distance, and Jeremy Dixon chipped in 10 points. As a team, Trevecca shot 30-of-58 (51.7%) from the field, 8-of-20 (40%) from long range, and 11-of-16 (68.8%) from the free throw line.
