
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - NAIA No. 20 Trevecca (0-2) fell 5-3to No. 18 Auburn Montgomery (3-1) at Senators Stadium.
The Senators scored a single run in the first, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth innings to pick up the win. Trevecca scored a run in the eighth and two in the ninth.
Trevecca out hit AUM 9-5 and both teams committed three errors apiece.
Brian Dirheimer and Aaron Bree had doubles for the Trojans. Ross Muirhead hit the first Trevecca home run this season. Muirhead had two RBI with his two-run homer in the ninth. The Trojans drew a pair of walks in the game. Dirheimer was 2-for-4. No other Trojan had more than one hit. Bree and Marty Parks each had a stolen base. TNU left 10 runners on base.
Ridgely Plaines (1-0) got the win for AUM with five innings of work. He allowed four Trojan hits, but didn't allow a run. He had four strikeouts. The save went to Brock Piper who pitched the final 1.1 innings. He allowed two hits, two runs and had three strikeouts.
Drew Durossette (0-1) started for the Trojans and allowed five hits, three walks and five runs over six innings of work. Only three runs were earned. Brent Amburn pitched the final two innings and allowed just three walks and struck out one.
The Trojans will face No. 3 Embry-Riddle at Noon on Saturday at AUM's Senators Stadium.
