
Blue Mountain jumped out early, using an 8-0 run to take the early six point lead at 8-2. The teams each hit three-pointers on their next two trips down the floor, and that is when the Trojans took control. Over the next seven minutes, the Trojans held the Toppers scoreless while rattling off a 25-0 run to expand their lead out to 33-14. The Toppers cut the deficit to 38-21, but again the Trojans had an answer - this time in the form of a 14-0 run that made the score 52-21. At the half, the Trojans held a commanding 65-23 lead. Blue Mountain cut into the deficit in the second half, pulling to within 27 points at 83-56 with 9:53 to play, but that was as close as the Toppers would get. Trevecca pulled away over the final moments, taking the win 106-67.
Five Trojans
scored in double figures in the game, led by Jennifer Bognar who posted
26 in the game. K.C. Van Atta scored 18, Abby Lawson poured in 13,
Chelsey Taylor had 12, and Paige McFarlin posted 10. McFarlin led the
Trojans with nine rebounds, and Casey Attebery dished out a career high
nine assists. As a team, the Trojans shot 38-of-74 (51.4%) from the
floor, 11-of-22 (50%) from long range, and 19-of-24 (79.2%) from the
foul line. In the game, the Trojans got 54 points in the paint, and 52
points off the bench.
