FLORENCE, Ala. - The 2009 version of the Trevecca softball team opened the spring schedule with a road double-header at NCAA D2 North Alabama, dropping both games of the twinbill. UNA won the first game 3-1 and finished the sweep with 7-2 win.

Stephanie Fisher (0-1) started the first game, taking the loss as the offense struggled to get going. UNA got on the board early, taking a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning. The Trojans cut the deficit to 3-1 in the sixth, but that was all the Trojans would get, as the Lions took game one 3-1. Karli Rush provided the Trojans only RBI in the game with a double that scored Chelsea Bailey.

In game two, Riley Mashburn (0-1) started and took the loss, but she was vicitimized by four errors that led to all but one of the Lions' runs. UNA again jumped out early, and the Trojans could not get the bats going. Bailey homered in the game, but that was the only highlight for the Trojans in the contest.

Trevecca will return to action on Wednesday when they travel to McKenzie, Tenn. to take on the Bethel Wildcats (3-1) for a double header at 1:00.
