NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Trevecca Nazarene Trojans
(9-5)returned
home Friday, opening a weekend series
with the Bethel (Ind.) Pilots
(1-3) with a double-header. Trevecca finished the double-header sweep with a 9-0 win in
the second game. Ben Johnson took the ball for the Trojans, and his
offense gave him some early support. Aaron Bree led off the game with a
triple, Chris Lowe followed with an RBI double, and two batters later
Cody Heggie blooped a single to right that scored Lowe and gave the
Trojans the 2-0 lead. The Trojans would add three more in the second
inning, two in the fourth, and two in the sixth. Johnson was dominant
in the win, tossing a complete game shutout and allowing one hit while
walking two and fanning seven. Aaron Bree was 2-for-3 with a double, a
triple, two RBI, and three runs scored, while Chris Lowe was 2-for-4
with a double, a run scored and four RBI. Trevecca scored nine runs on
nine hits and played errorless baseball, while Bethel managed just one
hit and committed two errors.
The two teams will play a single game on Saturday starting a
Noon.
