NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Trevecca Nazarene Trojans (9-6) lost 3-2 to visiting Tennessee Wesleyan (12-7) at Jackson Field on Tuesday. Despite the loss, the Trojans were greeted with good news as senior hurler Nick Shoup returned to the line up with two perfect innings of relief.

The Trojan bats went largely silent today against four Bulldog arms. The Trojans managed just two hits and left six men stranded. The TWC scored three runs on eight hits and had three errors. Trevecca scored two runs on two hits and had one error. The visitors scored two runs in the top of the fourth and Trevecca tied the game with a pair of unearned runs in the bottom of the fifth. The game winner was scored in the seventh for the Bulldogs.

Brent Amburn started and pitched five innings and allowed two earned runs on five hits and a walk. Drew Durossette (0-3) took the loss as he allowed one unearned run. In his two innnings of work Durossette allowed three hits and a walk. Nick Shoup pitched the final two innings in perfect fashion and produced four strikeouts.

Ben Gainer got the win in relief and Jason Ferguson picked up his third save.

Trevecca will host Reinhardt College (11-3) on Wednesday (Live Audio) with a single game at 2 p.m. Friday the Trojans will open conference play with a three-game series against Freed-Hardeman (8-4). TNU and FHU will play a single game starting at 2 p.m. on Friday and a double header Saturday at Noon. The home stand will conclude with a single game on Monday, March 9th at 2 p.m. versus Lindsey Wilson (3-3).
