
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Trevecca softball team (4-4, 2-0 TranSouth) hosted Union University (4-6) on Wednesday, taking both ends of the double-header 5-1 and 9-0.
In the second game, Lauren Baker (2-1) pitched a complete game shutout. She allowed just one hit and no walks while striking out two over five innings of work. Offensively the team was paced by two home runs (Karli Rush, Megan Suggs) and a double. Chelsea Bailey reached to lead off the bottom of the first and Suggs hit a two home run. The next batter was Karli Rush who hit a solo homer. Suggs was 2-2 on the game with a home run, a stolen base, three RBI and two runs scored. Chelsea Bailey was 3-3 with three runs scored, a stolen base, a double, and two RBI. Rush was 2-3 with a RBI, a home run, and a RBI. Trevecca scored three in the first and another three in the second inning. The final three runs were scored in the fourth. Trevecca had nine hits and no errors. Union had a hit and an error.
On Thursday Trevecca will host Tennessee Wesleyan (4-4) at 3 p.m.
