ORANGE BEACH, Ala. - Trevecca (6-5) was taken down by Spring Hill College (10-15) in the Trojan's first game at the Gulf Coast Invitational Friday.

The Trojans built a 1-0 lead in the first after Bailey doubled and then later came around to score on a Spring Hill error. The score stayed that way through three innings, before the Badgers put up two runs apiece in the 4th and 5th frames. Trevecca pushed another run across in the bottom of the seventh, but left the tying runs on base. Trevecca scored two runs on six hits and committed two errors. One of the errors allowed two Badger runs to score. Spring Hill scored four runs on six hits and committed two errors.

Stephanie Fisher (3-2) took the loss for Trevecca after allowing two earned runs on five hits in five innings of action. Samantha Brooks (6-7) picked up the win for the Badgers by scattering six hits in seven innings of work in the circle. She allowed only one earned run and fanned four while walking one. Shelby Mashburn pitched the final two innings for Trevecca. Mashburn allowed just one hit.

Chelsea Bailey went 2-for-4, with a stolen base, and a double at the top of the Trevecca order, while Caitlyn Bailey finished 1-for-3 with a RBI. Sammy Simon was 1-for-2 with a run scored, a double and a walk

Trevecca will play Grand View College on Friday, before playing Shorter College and Oklahoma Christian on Saturday.
