NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Trevecca softball team (8-8) hosted No. 13 Martin Methodist (16-6, 0-0 TranSouth) on Tuesday, Splitting a double-header with the RedHawks. The Trojans salvaged a split with a 7-6 win in the second game.

Lauren Baker got the Start for the Trojans, and she was quickly staked to the lead. Trevecca scored a run in the bottom of the first inning, and though Baker labored some in the early going, she and the Trojans held the 1-0 lead going into the fourth inning. Martin Methodist, however, solved Baker in the fourth, touching her up for four earned runs and plating two more runs off Riley Mashburn in the inning to take the 6-1 lead. But Trevecca responded in the bottom of the inning, plating six runs of their own to reclaim the lead at 7-6 and chase RedHawks starter Nicole Curtis from the game. Mashburn settled in for the remaining three innings, holding the RedHawks at bay as the Trojans earned the win 7-6. 

 
Mashburn (2-3) earned the win, tossing 3 2/3 innings and allowing just three hits and two earned runs while walking one and sitting down four on strikes. Curtis (7-2) took the loss for the RedHawks. Offensively, Karli Rush was 2-for-4 in the game with two doubles, a run scored, and two RBI. Lauren Baker was also 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI; and Cassady Critchfield was 1-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI. Trevecca scored seven runs on 10 hits and made one error, while Martin Methodist scored six runs on eight hits and made two errors.
