NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Trevecca softball team (9-8) defeated Fisk University (0-1) 8-0 in the first game of a double-header at the Trojan Softball Complex. Riley Mashburn pitched a no-hitter over the five inning game, only missing a perfect game with one walk.

 

In game one, Riley Mashburn (3-3) just missed a perfect game as she allowed one walk in her five innings of work. She sent down 14 Bulldogs on strikes. Offensively the Trojans scored eight runs on eight hits and committed no errors. Fisk had no runs or hits and had four errors. Chelsea Bailey was 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, a RBI, run scored, and walk. Melinda Patterson was 2-for-2 as well and had two stolen bases, two runs scored and a walk. Cassady Critchfield was 2-for-3 with a double, stolen base, two RBI and a run scored.

 

Trevecca will participate in the Cambellsville University Invitational this weekend. Trevecca will play Madonna University (12-4) in a double-header on Friday beginning at Noon. On Saturday they will play Robert Morris College (8-5) at 8:30 a.m. and Union College (11-6) at 1:00 p.m.

The next home games will be a key TranSouth Conference matchup with Bethel College (12-4, 2-0 TranSouth) on Thursday, March 26 at 3 p.m.
