Trevecca staked Nick Shoup to the early 3-0 lead when Trey Morrison and Aaron Bree each drove in a run in the bottom of the first and Blair Haskins scored on an error to make it 3-0 Trevecca. In the top of inning number two, Lambuth scored twice to cut the Trojans' lead to 3-2, and that's where it would stay until the fifth. Lambuth tied the game with a run off Trojans' reliever Brent Amburn to tie the game at 3-3. Trevecca answered with a run in the bottom of the inning to reclaim the advantage. Amburn (1-1)  pitched well in relief of Shoup, tossing 4.1 innings of relief, allowing two earned runs on five hits with two walks and two strikeouts to earn the win. Alex Laabs (3-2) was charged with the loss. Trevecca tacked on two runs in the seventh inning and two more in the eighth against the Eagles bullpen, and though Lambuth loaded the bases in the top of the ninth, they could muster just one run as the Trojans held on for the 8-4 win.

Trey Morrison led the way for the Trojans offensively, posting a 3-for-4 day with four RBI. Chris Lowe was 2-for-3 with a double, two walks, two runs scored and an RBI as well. Trevecca scored eight runs on nine hits and did not commit an error, while Lambuth scored four runs on nine hits and made two errors in the game.

The teams will play a double-header on Saturday starting at Noon.
