NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Trevecca softball team (13-11, 4-0 TranSouth) swept a key TranSouth Conference double-header with Nationally Ranked Bethel College (18-8, 2-2). The Trojans remained undefeated in conference play with 7-1 and 4-3 wins. Bethel is recieving votes in the most recent NAIA Top 25 Coaches Poll.  

In game two, the Trojans fell behind as the Wildcats scored a run in the first and second inning. BC added a run in the top of the sixth and looked to be in control. Trevecca answered with three runs in the bottom half and tied the game at three. The game went to extra innings where the Trojans got the win on Riley Mashburn's RBI double.

 

Mashburn, who started the game on the mound, was 2-for-4 with the double and an RBI. Sammy Simon aided the offense with a two-run double in the fifth. Simon was 1-for-3 with two runs scored, a home run, a walk, and two RBI. Stephanie Fisher (5-4) came on in relief to get the win. Fisher pitched three innings and allowed two runs on one hit and struck out four. Riley Mashburn started the game and allowed six hits, one run, one walk, and struck out two. The Trojans had nine hits, four runs, and two errors. Bethel had seven hits, three runs, and one error. .  

 

Trevecca will host Lyon College (9-11-2, 0-0) for a double-header at Noon on Saturday.
