Freed-Hardeman jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the top of the first, highlighted by a three-run home run off the bat of Brittany Yates. Trevecca came back in bottom of the inning, however, as Karli Rush answered with a two-run homer (3) to cut the deficit in half and make the score 4-2. Trevecca took the lead with a three run bottom of the fifth, and broke the game wide open with five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to stretch their lead out to 10-4. Freed scratched across a run in the top of the seventh, but that was all they could muster, as Trevecca took game one 10-5.

Stephanie Fisher (6-5) earned the win in relief of Riley Mashburn, tossing three innings of one hit ball, allowing just one earned run and striking out two. Tarrah Tucker (12-2) took the loss for the Lady Lions. Rush led the way for the Trojans offensively, posting a 2-for-3 game, with the home run, a triple (3), two runs scored and three RBI (20).
