NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Trevecca (21-15, 8-4 TranSouth) retured to action on Thursday with Senior Day, making up of a rained out game with the Lyon College Pipers (20-20, 5-7 TranSouth). The Trojans came from behind to take the win over the Pipers 4-3.

Lyon opened the scoring with a single run in the top of the first, and added a second run in the top of the third to build their lead to 2-0. In the bottom of the fifth, the Trojans got on the board when Megan Hemmingsen drove in Melinda Patterson to make it 2-1, and in the sixth, the Trojans pulled ahead. With two outs, Riley Mashburn reached on an error that allowed Karli Rush to score the tying run, and two batters later, Hemmingsen blooped a two-RBI single to right to give the Trojans the 4-2 lead. Lyon loaded the bases with one out in the seventh, but they could only get one run as Trevecca held on for the 4-3 win.

Riley Mashburn (7-6) earned the win, tossing three and two-thirds innings of shutout relief, allowing just two walks and striking out four. Tenequa Martin (9-7) threw a complete game for the Pipers in the loss. Hemmingsen led the way offensively, posting a 2-for-3 day with three RBI (19). Patterson was 2-for-3 with a double (3) and two runs scored; and Rush was 1-for-3 with a double (11) and a run. Trevecca scored four runs on seven hits and did not make an error, while Lyon scored three runs on six hits and made one error.

Seniors playing their last home game are Chelsea Bailey, Stephanie Fisher, and Shelby Mashburn.


Trevecca will wrap up their regular season on Friday afternoon when they travel to Pulaski, Tenn. for a TranSouth matchup against the Martin Methodist RedHawks (36-9, 11-1 TranSouth). First pitch is scheduled for 5:00.
