NASHVILLE, Tenn. - This summer, while many kids are hitting the pool, some are hitting the greens for the first time ever, thanks to the First Tee Program of Nashville.
First Tee introduces young people of all backgrounds to the game of golf, but it does a whole lot more than that.
The kids involved in the program also spend time in the classroom.
Instructors help them to develop honesty, discipline, sportsmanship and integrity.
Robbie Wilson, head coach of the men's golf team at Trevecca, volunteers with the program over the summer.
He said in addition to having fun, the kids also take away skills they will use for the rest of their lives.
