GEORGETOWN,
Ky. - The Trojans (5-3) were dominating in their
first game playing in the Tiger Invitational at Georgetown College. The
Trojans
kicked off the tournament facing Calumet College of St. Joseph (0-8)
defeating the Indiana school in straight games 25-9, 25-11, 25-19.
Trevecca jumped out early and never looked back. Leading the
charge was Teegan Hunziker with 10 kills and 11 digs. Jessica Hood had seven kills and seven digs
and Jennifer Peterson had five kills and seven digs respectively. Haley White
ended up with a game and team high 16 digs. Trevecca had eight team blocks.
In the second game at the Tiger Invitational the Trojans
faced NAIA No. 25 Mount Vernon Nazarene College (11-3). The game went five games deep with Trevecca coming up short and losing the match
to their sister Nazarene school 19-25, 25-23, 15-25, 25-15, 8-15. With the loss Trevecca's five match winning
streak comes to an end putting the Trojans record at 5-3 for the season.
Trevecca's Teegan Hunziker led the team with 25 kills and 21
digs. Jessica Hood had 12 kills and a team high 23 digs. Jennifer Peterson and
Brooke Cannon had 17 and 13 digs respectively.
Finishing up with a solid performance was Halley Wiggins with 28
assists, two service aces, and nine digs.
Trevecca will continue the Tiger Invitational at NAIA No. 6 Georgetown College
(10-0) Saturday facing Calumet College of St. Joseph (0-8) again at 1 p.m. CST and
Georgetown College at 3 p.m CST.
