LONDON, Ky. - The Trevecca men's golf team concluded play today in the
Bill Sergent Invitational at Crooked Creek G.C. The course played
to a par of 72 over 6,943 yards both days.There were 14 teams and 80 golfers
competing.
Trevecca finished eighth of 14 teams
with a (310-309) 619. Trevecca sophomore Joey Bradley scorched the course both days and ended a stroke off of the championship with a 1-under (72-71) 143 for the tournament.
The remainder of the Trojan contingent was lead by Grant Moffett (78-77) and his 155 which placed him 25th. Bobby Humburg finished 41st with a (84-79) 163 and David Saldana was 53rd at (76-88) 164. Skip Jones had is Thursday round disqualified after he inadvertantly signed a wrong scorecard. He posted a 82 on Friday. He shot a 75 on Thursday.
Lee University won the team competition with a (283-293) 576. Lee's Tyler Hollister and Matthew Smith of Walters State posted a tournament best 142 to edge Trevecca's Bradley for the title.
The team will host Union University for the Greystone Cup on September 21-22 at
the Greystone Golf Course in Dickson, Tenn.
