NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The
Trojan's (2-4-1, 0-1) faced TranSouth member Mid-Continent University
(2-1-1, 1-0) this evening at the TNU Soccer Complex and was held
scoreless for a 3-0 loss.
The first half kicked off with fast and high intensity
game play. Both teams battled back and forth for field positioning but
Mid-Continent gained the edge with five shots on goal compared to
Trevecca's one. Both teams were scoreless heading in to halftime.
The Trojans didn't have enough gas in the tank to keep
up with Mid-Continent's speed in the second half. An early second half
goal (47:01) by Mid-Continent's Wayne McCarron sparked the Chargers.
Also finding the back of the net for the Chargers were Marco Prates
(73:30) and McCarron again (79:02). The Trojans had two shots on goal
compared to Mid-Continent's 14 in the second half. Trevecca's Hayden
Coffman had 11 saves.
Trevecca will return to action on Wednesday, September 30 when they visit NAIA No. 10 Southern Tech (5-0-1) for
a 3 p.m. match.
