LEBANON, Tenn. - The Trojans (14-8, 5-3 TSAC) pushed past TranSouth member Cumberland University (13-8, 3-6 TSAC) this evening winning in straight sets 3-0. The win puts Trevecca in fourth place in the TranSouth Conference.


The first set was hard fought and closely played. Tied at 18-18 Trevecca's Kristen Evans was able to access two kills to put the Trojans up 20-18. Trevecca prevailed in the first set winning 25-23.


In the second set the Trojans jumped on the Bulldogs early in set with kills by Jessica Hood and Kristen Evans followed by two attack errors by Cumberland. Trevecca never looked back from that point on winning the set 25-20.


In the third and final set the Trojans found themselves down early 3-1. Consecutive kills by Jennifer Peterson assisted by Brooke Cannon put Trevecca up 4-3. Trevecca pulled away midway through the set eventually winning by nine points, 25-16.


Leading Trevecca was Kristen Evans with 11 kills and a staggering 66.7% attack completion rate and Teegan Hunziker had 10 kills, two service aces, and 12 digs. Jennifer Peterson had nine kills and 50% attack completion rate. Finishing up, Halley Wiggins and Brooke Cannon had 24 and 16 assists respectively and Haley White had a game high 20 digs.


The return home will be on October 15 when Union University (21-3, 6-3) will visit for a 7 p.m. match. To watch the match live on the internet - click volleyball live video at game time.
