BURKESVILLE, Ky. - The Trevecca men's golf team shot a 300-301=601
team score ending in a tie for second place at the Lindsey Wilson Fall
Invitational at the Dale Hollow State Park. Eight teams participated in the
invitational and 54 golfers completed both rounds.
Finishing ahead of the Trojans and winning the invitational
was the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) shooting 597 (300-297). Tying the
Trojans and having the top score of the second round was Marian University
(Ind.) with a 601 (307-294). Finishing up the rest of team results: Lindsey
Wilson College (Ky.) fourth place (303-304, 607), Cumberland University (Tenn.)
fifth place (310-303, 613), St. Catherine College (Ky.) sixth place (317-306,
623), Georgetown College (Ky.) seventh place (316-316, 632), and West Virginia
Tech eighth place (336-343, 679).
Trojan sophomore Joey Bradley beat all golfers in the
invitational with a two day total 144 (70-74) which was even par for the event.
Fellow sophomore David Saldana tied for sixth overall with a 149 (74-75). Grant
Moffett gathered a 153 (77-76) and tied for 17th place. Bobby
Humburg shot a 157 (79-78) and Skip Jones rounded out the Trojans lineup with a
159 (83-76). Trevecca's Josh Fields was competing as an individual and
carded a 166 (87-79) in the invitational.
This was the last tournament and concluded fall play for the
Trojans. Next up will be the Smee Builders/Point Loma Invitational at the
Steele Canyon Golf Course in San Diego, California on March 1st and 2nd, 2010. The event will be
hosted by Point Loma Nazarene University.
