NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The TranSouth Athletic Conference released its 2009 Men's Basketball Preseason All-TranSouth team. The 10-member team is topped by Union University's Greg Truvillion and Freed-Hardeman's Zack Frey. Those two share the Preseason Player of the Year award.

Trevecca's Michael France was selected to the team as well. France, a rising sophomore, was selected to the All-TranSouth Freshman Team and designated as the 2008-2009 TranSouth Freshmen of the Year. The Shelbyville, Tenn. native named TranSouth Player of the Week (February 22) and averaged 10 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. He shot 44.9% from three-point range hitting 35 long range bombs and scored in double figures in 18 games, scoring 20 or more four times. His season high was 27 points against Blue Mountain on 2/16/2009

Trevecca senior Matthew Elliott just missed making the team.

Truvillon averaged 18.15 points and 8.88 rebounds per game last year while Frey averaged 16.21 points and 5.03 rebounds per game.

The remaining seven-members of the preseason all-conference team are: Brandon Springer (Cumberland University), Will Shackleford (Martin Methodist College), Kenny Thomas (Mid-Continent University), Aubre Bodison (Martin Methodist College), Andy Lee (Lyon College), Jesse Moulton (Freed-Hardeman University), and Keith Tolliver (Union University)

 Truvillion and Frey each received a total of 74 points. Truvillion was tipped with the top vote on five ballots and Frey was selected first on three. The other first place vote went to Will Shackleford.

TranSouth

The TranSouth Athletic Conference (TSAC) is an NAIA conference of nine colleges and universities throughout Tennessee, Mississippi, Kentucky, and Arkansas. Since 1996, the mission of the TSAC is to promote the education and development of well-rounded students and productive citizens through intercollegiate athletics.
