NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Trevecca men's soccer coach has signed Austin Halstead of Columbia, Tenn. to play for the Trojans beginning in the Fall of 2010. Halstead attends Spring Hill High School and is the younger brother of Trevecca women's soccer standout Heather Halstead.
 
Coach Leavy says Halstead will beef up the defense, "We are fortunate to have Austin commit to Trevecca. He will bring a lot of strength to our defense.  Austin brings with him a good amount of experience and success playing at the Club level.
 
Halstead started on the varsity soccer team as Spring Hill his first three seasons and was selected to the All-District team in each of those seasons. He was named varsity Captain and team MVP as a junior. He played for the 3v3 Region and State Champions in 2007. The team placed 5th in the 2007 Nationals. Was named Harpeth Club Soccer Team Captain in 2008 and 2009.
 
Halstead is the first signee for the 2010-2011 freshmen class.
