
MOBILE, Ala. - The Trevecca women's golf team teed off for the last time this fall at the Mobile Invitational at the Azalea City Course in Mobile, Ala. There are seven teams and 40 golfers participating at the par 72 5821 yard course.
Betsy Beaver was the top Trojan after the first round of play on Monday. Beaver carded a 43-39=82 and is in eighth place overall. Ashley Birdwell shot a 44-41=85, Alyssa Moe came in at 48-42=90, Whitney Phillips was a stroke back at 46-45=91 and Maddie Privott shot a 49-47=96 to round out the Trojan effort.
As a team the Trojans are in sixth place with a 348.
Individually Maegan Rice of Mobile leads the way with a first round 37-37=74. Emelie Andersson of Northwood (Fla.) is second with a 39-37=76.
In the team competition Northwood (Fla.), ranked No. 4 in the GolfStat NAIA standings, leads the tournament with a 318. Thomas University is six back at 324, and Lindenwood is third at 328. Mobile (330), Spring Hill (340), and Faulkner University (374) are the other teams competing.
The teams will play a final round of 18 holes on Tuesday.
