MOBILE, Ala. - The Trevecca women's golf team moved up a spot in today's play in the final round of the Mobile Invitational at the Azalea City Course in Mobile, Ala. There were seven teams and 40 golfers participating at the par 72 5821 yard course.
Betsy Beaver was the top Trojan after carding a 82-81=163 which placed her seventh overall. Ashley Birdwell shot a 85-81=166 and finished in 13th place. The rest of the Trojan players were Alyssa Moe (90-88=178), Whitney Phillips (91-92=183), and Maddie Privott (96-95=189).
As a team the Trojans moved up a spot to fifth place after finishing the tournament with a 348-342=698.
Individually Maegan Rice of Mobile was the medalist with a 74-76=149.
 
In the team competition Northwood (Fla.), ranked No. 4 in the GolfStat NAIA standings, won the event with a 318-324=642. Thomas University (324-331=655), Lindenwood (328-329=657), Mobile (330-338=668), Spring Hill (340-358=698), and Faulkner University (374-383=757) were the other teams competing.
The team will return to action with the spring portion of their schedule in March.
