NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Trojans (24-11) defeated No. 7 Seed Martin Methodist (13-14) in the first round match in the TranSouth Tournament on Monday. Trevecca the No. 2 Seed won 25-17, 25-17, 25-20.
 
Trevecca had a .343 Attack Percentage in set one with 14 Kills and two errors in 35 attempts. In Set Two the Trojans had an even better Attack Percentage at .472. TNU had 20 Kills with three errors in 36 attempts. Kristen Evans led the way for Trevecca with a .571 Attack Percentage. Evans had 13 Kills with one error in 21 attempts. Brooke Cannon had 20 assists while Halley Wiggins had 21. Jessica Hood had 13 digs. Kimi Coffey had three service aces. Jhessica Martins had 13 Kills for the RedHawks and Caroline Santos had 15 asssists. Kayla Spencer's 11 digs led the RedHawks.
 
Trevecca will face Bethel University on Tuesday at 9 a.m. Martin Methodist will face Lyon College in an elimination match at 9:30 p.m. on Monday.
 
The TranSouth Conference Tournament (November 9, 10, 11) is being held at Trevecca's Moore Gym.
