NASHVILLE, Tenn. - NAIA No. 13 Trevecca (2-0) won their Pops Duncan Classic opener 65-47 over Bryan College (5-1) at Moore Gym.

The Lions jumped up on the Trojans and led 13-12 with 11:14 remaining in the first half. Trevecca closed the half with a 19-10 run and led 31-23 at the break. Trevecca added a 10-0 run to start the second half and led Bryan 41-23 with 15:42 to go. Trevecca's largest led was 51-30 at the 9:43 mark of the second half.

Trevecca's K.C. Van Atta led the team with 17 points and contributed three rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and three steals. Christian Gibson had 13 points and four steals. Gibson was 6-for-10 from the field. Angelica Sails scored 11 and had three rebounds and two assists while hitting all three shots from the field and all five free throws.

As a team the Trojans shot 26-for-59 (44%) from the field, 5-for-22 (23%) from beyond the arc, and 8-for-11 (73%) from the foul line.

Trevecca led 31-23 at the half and outscored the Lions 34-24 in the second half.
Saturday TNU will host Talladega College (3-2) at 4 p.m.

In Saturday's other classic game Bryan College will face Cumberland University at Noon.
