DAHLONEGA, Ga. - NAIA No. 13 Trevecca (5-1) defeated NCAA D2 Erskine College (2-1) 68-63on Friday in the North Georgia College Chick-fil-a Thanksgiving Classic.


Trevecca took a 21-12 lead to start the game, their largest lead of the first half. Erskine cut the lead to four (25-21) with 2:14 to go in the first half, but Trevecca stretched it out again to eight points (29-21) at the half.

The second half saw the Trojans extend their lead to 14 (41-27) with 16:17 remaining in the game. The lead was 15 (51-36) with 10:20 remaining, it was the largest lead of the game for Trevecca. Erskine was still down 12 (58-46) with 4:25 to go, but didn't give up. Over the next four minutes of play they used a 17-8 run to cut the Trojan lead to just three (66-63), but the Trojans would score the last two points of the game to secure the 68-63 win.

Trevecca freshmen London Elie led Trevecca with 18 point and 16 rebound effort. Elie also added a team-high four blocks and an assist. The former Lebanon Blue Devil went 9-14 from the field and hit 7-9 from the line. Angelia Sails also had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Abby Lawson hit double figure rebounds with 12 and had seven assists, two blocks and three steals. As a team the Trojans had 10 blocks, but kept Erskine close with 26 turnovers. Trevecca shot 42% (26-62) from the field, 23% (5-22) from three-point range, and 65% (11-17) from the foul line.
