
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - NAIA No. 13 Trevecca (5-3) were upset 60-55 by NAIA No. RV Georgetown College (5-2) on Tuesday night at Moore Gym.
The game featured two nationaly ranked teams and Georgetown came out on top. the Tigers pulled ahead early and led by 12 points (34-22) at the half. In the second half the Trojans cut into the lead several times, but the Tigers pulled ahead by as many as 16 points in the second half. With eight minutes to play the Trojans began to cut into the lead and tied the game at 49 with less than three minutes to play. Trevecca had at least three chances to take the lead, but couldn't and Georgetown was able to take a 57-51 lead with less than a minute remaining. The Trojans struck again and cut the lead to two points (57-55) and had the ball with 17.8 seconds to go. The Trojans had a couple of chances but failed to score and saw the Tigers seal the win at the foul line.
Angelica Sails led Trevecca with 13 points and was joined in double figures by Abby Lawson who scored 11.
Trevecca will host the Nashville All-Stars at 2 p.m. on Saturday. The game is free to all Trevecca fans - a little present from Santa Van Atta.
