LAKE WALES, Fla. - The Trevecca (8-2) men's basketball fell 91-74 to NAIA DII #19 Warner University (4-2).

Trevecca led 9-7 with 16:23 on the first half clock, but that would be the last time the Trojans would lead in the game. The Royals went on a 19-2 run and led 26-11 with 11:32 to go. The Trojans would never get the deficit under 11 points again in the game. The lead would be 16 (45-29) at the half.

The Royals broke the game open with a 16-4 run to start the second half. The Warner lead was 61-33 with 15:57 to go. Unlike the Cedarville game, the only other game the Trojans have been defeated, Trevecca wasn't able to make a significant rally. Trevecca did cut the lead in half on a couple of occasions in the second half. A Jeremy Dixon layup cut the lead to 85-71 with 2:42 to go, but the Royals would stop the Trojans run and won 91-74.

Trevecca was led in scoring by sophomore Michael France with 27. France hit 5-of-7 from three-point range and also led the team with five rebounds. Matthew Elliott (13) and Jeremy Dixon (12) both scored in double figures as well. Elliott led the team with five assists. Trevecca shot 51% (23-45) from the field, 50% (8-16) from three-point range, and 74% (74%) from the foul line.

Trevecca will take part in the Belhaven University Coaches vs. Cancer Classic next weekend in Jackson, Miss. On Friday, December 18 Trevecca will play NAIA No. 21 Tougaloo College (5-1). On Saturday, December 19 the Trojans will face the host Belhaven University Blazers (8-0).

Following the Classic the Trojans won't suit up again until January 7, 2010 when they host Mid-Continent University at 8 p.m.
